To help you conceptualize the relative merits of various physical dimensions, consider the following rules of thumb:

  • The bigger the wheels, the faster you can go, but the slower you can accelerate.
  • Although smaller wheels don’t go as quickly as their larger counterparts, they allow for much quicker acceleration.
  • A significant improvement in riding comfort is experienced when upgrading to wheels with a larger diameter.
  • Less-contractual, smaller, harsher wheels will slip more easily than their larger, softer counterparts.
Keep in mind that the aforementioned list is more of an overarching guideline and that riders should focus on deck clearance first when looking at wheel sizing.

Standard, all-terrain, off-road, and hub wheels are the four categories that fall under the umbrella of “wheel types” in the electric skateboard market.

Electric Skateboard Hub Wheels: These wheels were created with hub motors in mind from the very beginning, as their name suggests. They are typically utilized for beginner-level electric skateboards, but we have seen that the majority of the more advanced models are moving away from the utilization of hub-motorized wheels.

One of their main advantages is their low weight, which translates into improved energy efficiency as a result of this characteristic. These wheels, which are often made of thin rubber or plastic and offer very little to no shock absorption, are one of the few drawbacks. As a direct consequence of this, you shouldn’t expect the ride to be very smooth.

As a first entry, we’ve chosen a well-known electric board wheel manufacturer. ONSRA is well-known because of its extensive selection of board accessories. Naturally, all of the skate wheels in their product line are superior to the vast majority of the competition.

As expected, the Cloud wheels are not an outlier.

Cloud wheels are among the larger-sized electric board wheels available at the moment, measuring 105mm in diameter, making them great for high speeds and other such uses.

After trying out the Cloudwheels ourselves just a few weeks ago, we can attest to ONSRA’s claim that “you can roll up drop-curbs and forget about small pebbles which previously had you chewing the tarmac.”

If aesthetics are more important to you than functionality or longevity in your e-skateboard wheels, the transparent design is a huge plus.

What I don’t like:

  • It would be most ideal only for e-longboards.

Orangatang Caguama 85 mm:

  • They are majorly designed for longboards only.

Again, it is difficult for me to narrow my recommendations for the best wheels for electric skateboard. Because everything depends heavily on what it is that you want to accomplish. I will be able to provide you with some very solid suggestions to follow in order to help direct you in the right direction. To begin, you can’t go wrong with Orangatang, Abec11, or Seismic wheels if you want solid quality wheels that have been tried and loved for years in the longboarding world.

These wheels have been tried and tested again. Furthermore, it appears that the torque board wheels that are manufactured in the state of California may also be of high quality. In a nutshell, if you are looking for the finest wheel invest ride, you should stick with California urethane. If you are going to be riding off-road, the only type of tires I would recommend are pneumatic or honeycomb.

If you don’t enjoy having to do extra upkeep, go with honeycomb. If you want the greatest ride and the most modification options, pneumatic is the way to go. Because of the possibility that they will break while you are using them, I cannot in good conscience suggest Cloud Wheels or any other product that is substantially similar to Cloud Wheels at this time.

If you are interested in riding a wheel with more recent technology and you are able to get your hands on a new batch of them, it may be worth a chance to give them a try. To tell you the truth, until more is known about this type of wheel, I think it’s best to stick with the more affordable MBS version I mentioned previously.

They probably won’t provide as smooth of a ride as the cloud Wheels ever did, but I’ve read about them being used in the longboarding community for some time, and people are reporting that they are breaking. Again, I would recommend riding these kinds of wheels only if you frequently switch between pavement and light off-road terrain. To conclude, I will state that there is nothing wrong with riding a clone wheel if it is something you enjoy doing; nevertheless, you should make sure you are aware of the risks involved in using a cheap wheel.

Knowing more about e-board wheels should help you choose the right type and configuration. Consider the eventual goal of your e-board: traveling on bumpy roads or speeding and taking sharp corners for fun.

Don’t rely on wheels. Other electric skateboard parts ensure a smooth ride. Choose the best electric skateboard wheels. Consider your skateboarding style, board, and experience. Regardless of your decision, we hope this information helps.
